The 2 -series -Gran Coupé is located under BMW sedans on the bottom of the barrel. However, this is not an ordinary version of the new generation “F74”. Since we deal with a build configured by the car manufacturer to look pretty in the pictures, it is full of options. For the beginning, this press car portrays an M performance model, but do not call it the M235i. Bavaria falls from their petrol cars, so that this car was baptized the M235.
Speed Yellow FTW
Apart from an M power model, the second generation 2 Series Gran Coupé is covered in an individual color. Speed Yellow shows the compact luxury sedan, possibly more than the fire -red building that we recently covered. BMW wanted to make sure that this four-door 2er would attract our attention, so he decided on the larger 19-inch wheels. It is the 977m set with a two-tone treatment that the German luxury brand prefers today.
Do you see these gray brake calipers? They are also not standard. BMW calculates more for the optional M composite brakes, exclusively for the M235. We could talk about the additional treats of this car forever, including the dark lights. The body’s shadow line is immediately noticeable when you know your BMWs and create a strong contrast to the yellow look-at-me shadow.
M sports seats and new steering wheel
Inside, the body-hugging front seats with integrated headrests and an illuminated M logo give the illusion that they are in a fat-like M-car. There are also some complicated surrounding lighting that the old “F44” did not have. On the other hand, the original 2 Series Gran Coupé has turned an iDrive -Rotary button and much more traditional control elements, which are missing some of us beyond a certain age. At the age of the smartphone, the car manufacturers prefer to access almost every function in a touchscreen.
B48 engine under the bonnet
The engine cover of the M brand hides a dirty little secret. Since this car was built for Europe, it has a deceased version of the “B48” unit. Instead of making the full 312 hp available outside the EU, the 2.0-liter mill from Turboch is rated with only 296 ponies. At least they don’t miss the torque that remains unchanged at 295 LB-FT (400 Nm). By default, the M235 is equipped with XDRIVE and a seven -speed double automatic transmission. The DCT is actually installed in all flavors of the new 2 GC.
