The Audi RS3 is nearing the end of its life cycle. Fans of the charismatic five-cylinder engine with the characteristic firing order 1-2-4-5-3 shouldn’t wait too long. The compact performance icon will soon disappear from the range. A possible farewell variant is the RS3 Competition Limited, but the price premium is considerable.
Time is running out for RS3 enthusiasts. Audi offers the RS3 Competition Limited in a limited edition, limited to 750 examples worldwide. Although the special model does not offer any additional power, it still offers everything it needs to win the hearts of compact performance fans. The edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Audi five-cylinder engine and does not focus on additional performance, but on exclusive equipment.
The well-known 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine produces 294 kW (400 hp) and is equipped with a coilover suspension that includes a specially tuned rear stabilizer bar. Carbon details underline the special paintwork in dark green, white and gray. Inside, the RS3 Competition Limited features gold design accents and a serial number plate.
The gold theme continues on the 19-inch cross-spoke wheels. The exterior mirror housings, side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser have a matt carbon look. A subtle but striking detail is the RS emblem in historic Audi Sport colors.
Most observers will only see these details in passing. With 500 Nm of torque and quattro all-wheel drive, the Audi RS3 accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km/h.
Such exclusivity doesn’t come cheap. The Audi RS3 Sportback Competition Limited costs 108,365 euros, while the four-door sedan version costs 110,005 euros. Buyers can choose between dark green, white and dark gray paint. This is a significant surcharge compared to the standard RS3, which starts at 66,800 euros for the Sportback and 68,800 euros for the sedan with the same engine and similar equipment.
