The highly excited 2026 BMW M2 CS officially broken cover, and we had the chance to film it up close at the legends of the Autobahn event in California. In our exclusive video (embedded below), the BMW product manager Nick Gerstner leads us through every detail of the most extreme M2 so far, which has ended in a striking new, velvety blue paint.
A more extreme M2
The M2 CS builds on the already strong G87 M2 and brings performance and design to another level. In the heart is a 3.0-liter twin turbo-S58-inline-Six, which is now tuned to 523 hp-a significant jump over the standard model. This performance is sent only via an automatic transmission to the rear wheels. A decision notes that the maximum performance consistency guarantees, although Purists have loved a six-speed manual.
Weight reduction with carbon fiber

In addition to the power bondage, the new M2 -CS fabrics runs almost £ 100 compared to the standard car. This weight savings mainly result from extensive carbon fibers, including roof, fuselage, internal components and aero parts. Like the one we saw in Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este at the beginning of this year, it is bronze, the forged wheels with red painted brake calipers are broadcast. The wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches in the rear and carry handle pirelli tires -275 profile backwards in front of the 285 profile.
The show car at Legends of the Autobahn wore together with a deep and shiny BMW single shadow, which made his debut in this model. The unique CS touches include an aggressive front splitter, a massive duck tail spoiler and a unique tail diffuser.

Inside, the differences can be more subtle compared to the regular M2, but they are just as significant. The strategy for weight saving BMW is clear: the center armrest has disappeared, and carbon fiber-icon-optional on the standard M2-Sind to keep the weight low and at the same time increase the support of the route. The cabin is completed with a spacious carbon fiber cladding, which is highlighted by fat red “CS” anchoron tank, which mark this model. A light carbon fiber center console, exclusively for the CS, further reduces the mass, while a steering wheel processed with Alcantara closes the cabin geared towards drivers.
