2027 BMW M3 Electrical dust during the hardcore test: Video

Testing future M -cars for his livelihood would be a dream job for many of us. However, it is not without risks. Since prototypes are in progress, things can go wrong in blinking an eye. It is unclear whether this incident was caused by a technical problem or a supervised driver, but it could have been bad. Fortunately, the electric M3 has avoided a crash.

BMW has not even revealed the plebeian i3 (“Na0”), but his siblings are already a confidante sight in the Nürburgring. The “ZA0” was recently shot in a hot round of the demanding German route. Munich’s electric super limousine almost left and hopped the curb with all four bikes. Nevertheless, the driver did not waste time to resume an aggressive pace when the prototype was back on the asphalt.

If it was not a mechanical mistake, the driver’s faux pas underlines how seriously BMW is to make the electrical M3 as dynamically as possible on its gas -powered counterpart. Of course, the much higher curb weight will inevitably be given its ugly head, but M engineers will undoubtedly do their best to counteract the additional mass.

The fact that it is simply referred to as “M3” shows BMW’s trust that the electrical sports sedan can maintain the prestige of six gasoline generations. Do the seven because another ice -operated M3 also comes. However, the “G84” with a mild inline-six engine will be debuted about a year after the Heißen EV. So expect it in 2028.

As soon as the camouflage has expired, the M3 “ZA0” becomes the first M of the new class -era. Do not expect a quad engine monster with more than 1,000 hp, although BMW M says that the technology exists. A more sensible movement would be a gradual expansion of the list, starting with a configuration of the rear wheel drive. Sources near Munich suggests that the output remains below 700 hp.

While the Electric M3 will start as a RWD, an XDRIVE version with extra punch seems inevitable. In the meantime, the returning X3 M, this time as a high-performance electric crossover, should take on an all-PAW setup from the start. And these two are only the tip of the iceberg. M versions of the future i3 Touring and IX4 could arrive before the end of the decade.
