The best-selling luxury SUV from BMW is about a new chapter. The next generation BMW X5, Chassis Code G65, is scheduled to start production in August 2026 before it arrives as a vehicle for the 2027 model year in exhibition rooms. Our exclusive renderings, inspired by the recent heavily disguised prototypes, imagine how the flagship -SUV from BMW could develop under the influence of the NEE class design language.
A familiar form with a new class details

From the front, the render shows a design that lends information from the upcoming IX3 (Na0). The kidney grill is cleaner and upright, framed by slim headlights with two sloping LEDs in the housing. On the side, the X5 retains its iconic proportions, but wins more shaped surfaces and fewer character lines, which signals a movement in the direction of a more decent, more futuristic look. Handles in the wing style, which are mounted high along the Belt line, reflect the Vision Nee Class X concept.
The render gives a brave statement in the back. The taillights flow into a central comb over the trunk, which is connected by a thin LED rod. Each rear light ends in a reverse V-shaped signature and adds distinction, while the focus of the new class refers to light-based design motifs.
Rendered: BMW X5 M60

Our render also imagines the BMW X5 M60, which is driven by the Twin Turbo V8. As with today’s model, there are the M60 Sports Quad exhaust tips, which give it the same attitude and attitude as a fat X5 M., while the future of the eight-cylinder in Europe is less secure, the US market will continue to transmit the S68 V8 mild hybrid.
