2028 BMW IX1 spies hidden massive changes

At the beginning of this year, BMW promised to launch more than 40 new cars by the end of 2027. The IX1 was not specially mentioned, but these spy photos emphatically indicate that the compact electrical crossover is part of this product flash. It is a well -founded guess that is based on a precise view of this camouflaged prototype.

It is immediately clear that the current IX1 “U11” not only gets the usual mid-cycle facelifting. Instead, we look at the next generation model, which is assumed that it bears the internal code name “NB5”. The preliminary taillights of the prototype already show a new look compared to those of the first generation IX1. An extermination under the rear glass disguises the true length of the lights that extend inwards and are divided into the BMW Roundel and reflects the styling of the IX3.

Some espionage recordings even offer a look inside. The zooming shows a large central display that performs the latest iDrive. It measures 17.9 inches in the IX3, although it is unclear whether BMW uses the same size in the IX1 or delimits it. There is another screen in front of the infotainment, which is probably used to monitor data that was collected by the prototype sensors.

The 2028 BMW IX3 will really be new

The next IX1 will be a covenant redesign.
