It was in 2002 when Alpina revised his legendary badge for the fourth time since the famous emblem was created in the 1960s. A fifth revision seems to be planned for the new era from next year under the BMW Corporate Dach. According to a new brand registration at the German Patent Office (German Patent and Trademark Office / DPMA), discovered by CarbutzThe emblem is intended for a small update for next generation cars.

Although we cannot share the new logo here for copyrighted reasons, you can display it under the following spring link. It introduces a subtle development that only die -hard Alpina fans will probably notice. Purists will be happy to hear that the individual gas links remain on the left and the crankshaft. However, the sign was removed for a minimalist look. Speaking of simplification of things, the logo is shown in black and white. This means that it does not seem to be right that the traditional red and blue center disappears.

Strangely enough, the Alpina script does not use the same font with the DPMA a few years ago. The earlier submission of June 2023 consisted of “BMW Alpina”, while the recent submission of January 2025 concerns the new logo without the addition of BMW to the new/old badge. This could indicate that cars are marketed as BMW Alpina in press material and ads, but the mild revised logo itself is not included in the BMW name.

BMW has both brands registered in the following classes in the Ware/Services category. Class 12 Covers: “Automobile; drives for automobiles; engines for automobiles; parts and accessories for automobiles.” Class 35 includes: “Provision of commercial information and provision of commercial information and advice for consumers in the selection of products and services; retail and wholesale services in relation to automobiles as well as their parts and accessories.”

Interestingly, the new logo registration also includes class 37. “Installation, cleaning, repair and maintenance in terms of vehicles and parts and accessories for vehicles; Restoration of vehicles, rental rental, leasing and leaving objects in connection with the requirements of the subsequent services that were included in the requirements.

Perhaps this is an early sign that BMW is considering offering restoration services for older Alpina models. Perhaps it follows the same strategy that BMW Classic used to support Vintage car owners.

However, the Alpina in the new era under the control of BMW begins in 2026. The parent company has indicated to close the gap between high-end BMWs and Rolls-Royces-Rolls-Level rolls. Provided that there is even something like a base. According to rumors, Alpina’s 7 series is returned, which may be connected by a next generation X7. Both should have V8 power and possibly even EV derivatives.

The push of Alpina will probably occur at the expense of models with a lower levels. As a result, the B3, B4 and their crossover derivatives could live in borrowed times. The B5 has already been discontinued and it seems that the days of the basic models are numbered. It is also expected that the B8 will be dropped because BMW is preparing to carry out the installation of the 8 series series.
