BMW actually built an M3 Touring GT3 Evo

BMW lovers set up at every April Fool’s joke. From fake pickup trucks to imaginary hovercraft, we have seen our appropriate share of detailed pranks from Munich. But in 2025 we threw a curve ball. What as another playful joke began-a wild idea of transforming a family-friendly BMW M3 that into a full-grown GT3 racing driver Tourte-Wurde into a very real and very cool build. It turns out that freelance creative director Simon von Broich and his talented team took the prank seriously – very seriously. Instead of Photoshop tricks, they grabbed a production-specific M3 tour and courageously began to borrow elements from the M4 GT3 EVO and produced parts that did not exist.

How you did it (note: not easy)

It is not easy to make a GT3 car of the race. BMW just doesn’t make GT3 Aero Kits for cars – why would you? So from Broich’s team has redesigned completely new body panels from scratch. Wider fenders, aggressive aero, Custom Side Glass – it was not from the shelf. The team even tackled itself as the most difficult: these beautiful but incredibly complicated air inputs that were shaped into the rear doors and carefully imitate the look of the GT3 racing driver. The result? A real car in the GT3 style with authentic racing car Vibes front splitter, wide posture, ventilation slots and everything.

Wait, a car racing driver?

As crazy as it sounds, this build raises a pretty funny question: Why don’t we really have wagon races? Imagine that you have and have a high-performing car for exchanging colors. It is as impractical as it is irresistible. But as automotive enthusiasts we are not allowed to dream? The best thing about this build could be how well it repairs something that always feels a bit uncomfortable on the factory -M3 tours -the Haven -Torche treatment. BMW traditionally reused standard wager doors and forces strange compromises on the arched arches. Broich’s approach wonderfully integrates the Wide body look and makes the BMW’s own solution appear compared to comparison.

More than a unique?

Realistically does not expect BMW Motorsport to suddenly homologize an M3 tour for GT3. After all, they cut off the M4 GT3 Evo well. But that’s the charm here – that was not about practicality. It was about passion, craftsmanship and prove that a joke could become a breathtakingly cool reality. Perhaps BMW will soon not let Wagon racing driver get the right way. But for a short, glorious moment, a handful of enthusiasts have proven that “impossible” ideas are sometimes only as impossible as our imagination allows.

And now we really want more.
