In an increasingly competitive automotive sector, speed is of crucial importance. Just as Japanese and later Korean brands are famous, the Chinese car manufacturers now want a piece of the campaign. Luxury brands born on the world’s largest car market threaten Legacy players. BMW, Mercedes and Audi all fight in China, especially in the EV segment.
Domestic manufacturers produce cars as if there were no tomorrow, and new brands apparently appear every other day. But after BMW has poured 10 billion euros in new class in the past five years, he is confident that he can beat China in his own game. Between now and at the end of 2027, more than 40 new cars should start. Admittedly, not all of the next generation will be. Many will be facelifts, but all will occur to different degrees in the characteristics of the class characteristics.
The head of development Joachim Post told the German Business Newspaper Handelsblatt That BMW has transformed its program into higher equipment: “Nobody will be able to fulfill what we have planned in the next two years. And that’s why I say: What we do now is more than China speed.”

Post even claimed that BMW was now able to launch new cars: “The way they bake pretzels, as they say in Bavaria.” It is not surprising that artificial intelligence plays a key role in the acceleration of development, albeit at the expense of the HR department. The executive based in Munich admitted the company “in the past to have significantly more workers”. In contrast, a team of only 1,000 people will be sufficient to develop the BMW of tomorrow.
BMW insists that it has no prioritization of quantity compared to quality, but the pace of the new starts is expected to be accelerated in the KI era. In addition to the renewed renewal of existing type signs, the German luxury brand reports on ways to expand its big portfolio. Via the i3 Limousine and IX5 Electric SUV next year, there will be an i3 car, an IX4 and a robust SUV with combustion and electrical drive strands.
We also reported the great probability of Electric models at the entry level I1 and I2. It is enough to say that BMW’s line -up becomes even more complex if the family expands new class. At the top of the NK hierarchy there are electric M -cars, starting with the M3 “ZA0” in 2027.
