BMW floods the Nurburgring with prototypes: spy video

Regardless of whether it is a mid-cycle facelift or a model of the next generation, testing is never really noticeable at BMW. A new spy video in the Nürburgring, the Mecca of the AutoFests for European Car manufacturers and beyond, proves that. The film material shows a mixture of current and future models as well as a surprising comeback for a car that has not been available since 2021.

An M2 of current general gene with the track package from the 00:25 brand is equipped with the leadership of the BMW pack. This G87, which is located on a circulation, was annoyed before its publication, which is planned for some time next year. The front canards and the massive rear wings make it clear that it is serious to sharpen the claws of the M2 for track-day enthusiasts. In the same way, the prototype appears at 12:01 p.m. and looks very quick when it attacks the challenging corners of the Nürburgring.

Speaking of M2S: A mysterious example of the first generation was also caught dancing on the race track. The F87, which wears Munich plates, can be discovered on the 11:34 mark. Whether it belongs to BMW or a supplier remains unclear, but it is fascinating to see an M2 of the first generation again in action.

Elsewhere, a full electrical i3 sedan was caught by the Auto -Paparazzi. The EV, the code name “Na0”, reappears at 8:21 a.m. and at 2:26 pm. BMW plans to withdraw camouflage next year, whereby the production of 2026 in Munich is planned. Essentially a limousine version of the IX3 debut next week at the IAA Mobility Show will reflect the next generation 3 Series sedan (“G50”). The latter is expected to share a large part of his design inside and outside with the EV. As the BMW design chief Adrian van Hoydonk told us, combustion and electrical models will share in the large and entire styling information.

The same approach also applies to the next generation X5, which can be seen in the video at 11:20 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This “G65” prototype can be seen in the Nürburgring contains a combustion engine. However, the purely electric IX5 will take an almost identical styling that is influenced by the NEE class design language. The manufacturing model for hydrogen fuel cell production cells confirmed for 2028 will probably also be based on the new X5. Rumors indicate that the luxury SUV could even cause a rich version. It would combine the electrical drive with a small gas engine that acts as a generator.

Overall, this Nürburgring espionage video is a solid memory of how much BMW has in the pipeline. We strive to bring these models onto the street, but maybe even more, so that the rumored “robust” project is aimed at off-road enthusiasts.
