We treated the serious details about the 2026 IX3. So why don’t have a little fun? BMW confirms that the new electrical crossover Airconsole supports a feature that was first introduced in 2023 for certain models that operate the previous generation. It is essentially a cloud-based console to play games in the car. It is not surprising that there is a iDrive X, but with a turn. The game library is expanded to include Mattel’s Hot bikes: Xtreme Overdrivewhich will be exclusively for BMW cars.
A teaser video shows the sporty IX3 on the central infotainment screen and fully uses the massive 17.9-inch display. It is the largest touchscreen that has ever been installed on a production BMW that is suitable for a split screen setup that supports up to four players. You don’t need a separate controller because Airconsole works with smartphones, although some games are also compatible with Bluetooth controllers. Titles can be downloaded directly from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, with further games on the road.
Of course, the game switches off in the car as soon as you start driving. To limit distractions, it only works if the vehicle is inpatient. These casual games are not only for the driver and the passenger, since the rear residents can also participate. As the people said earlier, it is fun for the whole family.

At this point you may be wondering: is that really necessary? Maybe not, but it could be useful. Remember to spend time while the IX3 stands up again. This should not take long because the electrical SUV supports 400 kW shop. However, it is a different story to find a station that can actually deliver these speeds. Airconsole also makes sense when you wait for someone, be it family, a friend or a business partner.
BMW and Mini are not the only car manufacturers (literally) On board with Airconsole; Some Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi models also have the car games. It will be interesting to see how experience develops as soon as BMW has introduced an optional passenger screen. The additional display should debut in 2027 if the 5 series receives its mid-cycle update.
As for the muscular IX3 Hot bikes: Xtreme OverdriveIt is a playful turn on the “NA5” that wears an oversized wing and chunky plastic cladding. To mention unnecessarily that the M-Performance and M derivatives from BMW will not take over the exaggerated styling of the virtual racing driver.
