BMW M crushes AMG with record sales 2025

The competition between BMW M and Mercedes-AMG has always been violent-but in the first half of 2025 it is BMW M that goes away with a final victory. BMW M GmbH has just achieved its best sales in the first half and achieved almost 105,962 vehicles worldwide by June. This number corresponds to an increase of 6.5% compared to the previous year compared to the same period in 2024 and puts the M department on the right track in order to achieve further annual sales record.

While the wider automotive market continues to struggle with geopolitical tensions, rising costs and the consequences of the US import tariffs, BMW seems to survive the storm better than most others. The M performance brand M performance brand has turned out to be an important driver of this resistance.

While BMW does not break the individual sale of individual M model, the brand has the ongoing strong demand in its Mament, including the latest limousines, SUVs and electrified M offers. The almost 106,000 units sold in the first half of 2025 include both complete M cars and M performance models, the latter serving as a critical volume driver in markets around the world.

This is followed by a record association of 2024, at the BMW M 206,582 vehicles worldwide-a all-time high. Of these, 66,805 full M models were, with the rest of the roof of the M -Performance roof. At 2025, which already acts a stronger start, BMW M seems to be ready to break his own record again.

The second half looks even stronger

Both have combined a plug-in hybrid drive train for the first time, the V8 current combined with electrical torque and increased efficiency.

Mercedes-AMG falls back

In the meantime, Mercedes-AMG recorded sales of 68,202 vehicles for the first half of 2025. This is 7% compared to the previous year, but it is far behind the 105,962 units of BMW M. Despite the profit, AMG now runs BMW M by almost 38,000 vehicles – a gap that may continue to grow if the latest models from BMW achieve complete availability.

BMW, as a whole Mercedes-Benz in the USA, has even been translated beyond the M division in 2025.
