The M2 is BMW’s most powerful rear-wheel drive car ever, but it certainly doesn’t come cheap. If you don’t have enough bank account for competitive sports, there’s a cheaper way to get behind the wheel. Well, at least virtually. The hardcore “G87” is now available The Crew Motorfestwhere it makes its video game debut.
The M2 CS was launched in mid-2025 and went on sale in late summer, priced at 115,000 euros in Germany and $99,775 in the US. Production began in August and deliveries began in the third quarter. As with previous CS-badged models, this is a limited special edition and not a permanent member of the range. BMW is reportedly building fewer than 2,000 units, with production expected to end in July.
Below is the trailer video highlighting the M2 CS in Individual Velvet Blue. However, BMW also sells the original in other colors, such as M Brooklyn Gray, M Portimao Blue and Sapphire Black. The retro-style ducktail spoiler is standard equipment, as are the 827M forged wheels in matt gold bronze.

The M2 CS isn’t the only BMW added The Crew Motorfest squad this year. The M-Hybrid V8 endurance racing car and the legendary 3.0 CSL (E9), also known as the Batmobile, also join the virtual garage. It’s also worth noting that the M2 CS isn’t the only car making its video game debut in Ubisoft’s racing title Ivory Tower. The Ferrari F80, the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Ferrari 12Cilindri and the Zenvo Aurora Agil also appeared in a video game for the first time in 2019 The Crew Motorfest.
It’s safe to say it’s been a good week for BMW enthusiasts who are also video game fans. Although the Forza Horizon 6 While the trailer only showed a few models with a roundel, we discovered the M3 E30 and the M2 F87. A John Cooper Works GP hot hatch was also on display, and further models from both brands are in preparation. The game will be released on May 19th and will feature more than 550 vehicles at launch.
In the real world, BMW M will be busy continuing to update the M2 this year. An optional Track Package will officially arrive in 2026 and will be available as a retrofit to existing vehicles. Although not yet announced, the M2 xDrive is also expected to break cover later in the year. As with other all-wheel drive M models, the clutch pedal is eliminated in favor of an automatic-only configuration.
