BMW M3 CS Touring brings BBS wheels to the Essen Motor Show

The Essen Motor Show 2025 started this weekend and BMW fans certainly have a lot to see. One of the stars is undoubtedly an M3 CS Touring, a very special car even before the tuners spice it up even further. This limited edition super suit in British Racing Green swaps its original wheels for a BBS set.

The BBS CI-R Unlimited is available in no less than 21,600 possible variants and in sizes from 19 to 21 inches. In Essen, the aftermarket wheel specialist chose its rotating hub caps to attract more visitors to its stand. If you prefer to keep it stock, the M3 CS Touring’s alloys are available in either gold bronze or black, both with a matte finish.

But the shiny wheels aren’t the only upgrade Bavaria’s ultimate family hauler received for the show. The M3 CS Touring sits lower after a chassis modification with a KW V4 coilover suspension. It has separately adjustable low and high speed compression damping: 16 levels for rebound and 13 for compression. This makes it suitable for almost any scenario, from the school run to the occasional track and field day.

Observant readers will also notice a more subtle change from the ultimate ‘G81’. The yellow daytime running lights have been replaced by a simple white DRL signature and are reminiscent of the M2 CS, which also foregoes the yellow look of the latest Competition Sport models.

With fewer than 2,000 units planned, the M3 CS Touring will be an exclusive car. It remains to be seen whether owners will modify their vehicles given the model’s rarity. On the other hand, changes to wheels and suspension are reversible.

If a garage only has space for one car, the long-roof M3 is an ideal candidate as it can do just about anything. And because the tuning scene is already familiar with the G80 sedan, there is also plenty of aftermarket support for the more practical G81. This of course includes the CS, as it is essentially a souped-up version of the standard car.
