Fast car. V8 engines. The BMW M5 Touring. Real insight by Jason Cammisa. What is not to be loved? In the latest ultimate drag Race Replay video, Cammisa is creating the violent BMW M5 tour with rivals from Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Unfortunately only another car in the game – the RS6 Avant – but not desperate. All four Tout Mighty V8 engines under the bonnet to ensure a flat playing field, an excellent soundtrack and absolutely dark fuel consumption. But then Drag Race winner is not classified by MPG, right?
The Drag Race competitor of the BMW M5 Touring

You probably already know everything about the BMW M5 Touring, but if you don’t, here are the highlights. The M5-Touring, Chassis Code G99, advertises with a 4.4-liter V8 twin turbo V8 717 hp and a torque of £ 738. It is also a plug-in hybrid, which also leads to a little more weight than you might expect: BMW claims a curb weight of £ 5.390 (2,444 kg). The other longer roof in the mix is the 2025 Audi RS6 Avant, which appeals to a twin turbo turbo V8 with a 621-PS twin turbo 4.0-liter V8. The mild hybrid system leads to a much lower curb weight comparatively. Almost £ 5,000 (2.267 kg).
Two limousines complete the starting line. The first is the frankly ridiculous Mercedes-AMG S63 E-performance, which, like the BMW M5 Touring, is a plug-in hybrid. It makes a total of 791 hp, and the curb weight is approximately that of a small town, £ 5877 (2,665 kg). The last participant is the Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid, which does 771 hp and also types the scale at over £ 5,300 (£ 2,404 kg). No lightweights here, that’s safe.
The race
If you look at the Spec leaves, it will be a tight race. And in this case, the numbers directly reflect reality. All four cars are tight in power and are quite tight. All four cars reached 60 miles per hour from a standstill when it took to read this sentence. We won’t give away too much, but here is the skinny about what happens to the BMW M5 tour. The finishing trap speed is 1 miles per hour faster than that of the AMG sedan. It also manages to complete the quarter mile race in just 11.1 seconds and to record a time from zero to 60 miles per hour of 3.1 seconds. That is 0.4 seconds faster than BMW’s own estimates. The M5 touring already wins in our book.
We will end with a last note on the performance of the M5 Touring. With a falling speed of 127 miles per hour and a quarter mile of 11.1 seconds, the BMW M5 Touring is 0.2 seconds and 2 miles per hour behind the last generation M5. Not bad if you look at the additional style and the practicality of the Touring Body style … and the enormous weight gain. Take a look at the video to see how touring stacks against its closest competitors – we suspect that you have a lot to say.
