The new M5 touring led the pack during the first race of the Romanian retro race. In the eighth season, the National Speed and regular championship in Motorpark Romania began, where no less than 56 cars got on. BMW was the best represented car manufacturer with seven vehicles with the famous round.
In fact, BMW had more cars than the local car manufacturer Dacia. The 3 Series was the most popular car from Bavaria with the first three generations online. One of the cars, an E30 in the 325i taste of Andrei Tureanu, triumphed in the Speed competition. The Renault 5 Turbo from Adrian Anton Georgescu – Stefan Marinescu Team won the regularity race. At the same time, a good old Trabant 1.1 from Lazăr Farka’s piloted old Trabant 1.1 took first place in the road sports class.

The original 6 of all cars to share the route in Adâncata was probably the most beautiful look. Seeing the G99 next to the classic BMWS is a strong memory of how much design has changed. This applies in particular if we compare modern styling with the good old days of the E24 or E30. Whether we will appreciate today’s M5 as much as some of these iconic cars can still be seen.
One thing is certain – cars will never be as light and small as decades ago. You can also adopt the manual gear because its days are numbered. Do not accuse BMW. The German luxury brand must comply with increasingly stricter laws in relation to emissions. In addition, advanced security systems are primarily designed in such a way that they work with vehicles with automatic transmissions.
But I wander off. The M5 touring shown here has not received full safety car treatment. For the entire Shebang for the M5 MotoGP Safety Car, which BMW has decorated for both limousine and wagon flavors.
