BMW will sell you an i3 limousine today, provided you are ready to buy one in China, where it is only built and sold. We speak of the Long Wheelbase Electric Limousine (“G28”), which is based on the Clar platform. An electrical limousine in the 3 Series segment available worldwide will not arrive until 2026. In the meantime, the German luxury brand gives us an early look at the “NA0”.
Even with camouflage, it is easy to notice that the prototypes look completely different than the above i3. Hiding under the cladding is the 2023 Vision New Class concept in a local production. So far, BMW does not provide any details because the debut is still about a year away. However, BMWblog Has already learned that the “G50” i3 and the next generation will look almost identical.
BMW probably has a good reason to show two prototypes. We are probably dealing with various versions of the i3 and are happy to see one of them on silver wheels. The classic look for the alloys celebrates a comeback, as can be seen on the 2025 m2, M3 and M4. Elsewhere, the characteristic double headlights and the wide grille between them are difficult to overlook.

The flush door handles are part of a greater exertion to improve aerodynamics in order to unlock more reach. In the IX3 new class case, BMW has promised that the total vehicle fabric is increasing by 20% compared to the outgoing CLAR-based model. Expect important improvements for the new i3 compared to the electrical limousine sold in China.
Even without pictures showing the interior, it is clear that there is no screen in front of the driver. This is because there will be in the i3 Limousine Idrive X, which starts on the conventional cluster of instruments. The panoramic view will take its place as a projection with three solid tiles in the driver’s line of sight. The remaining six sections on the right are customizable. The focus of the dashboard will be massive 17.9-inch touchscreen.
BMW will be pre -produced in Munich before the end of the year. Series production only begins later in 2026, possibly in July. If it matters at some point, the i3 will have the cylinder batteries of the gene6 and electric motors of the next generation, which we recently disassembled.
The new 3 Series with gas engines will probably enter the production in Dingolfing just a few months after the i3. It is important to note that the Gas 3 Series is no longer made in Munich. The historical facility in Germany will only build EVS by the end of 2027.
