A second source has now repeated what we reported at the beginning of this year: The upcoming electrical M version of the IX3 is simply referred to as BMW X3 M. Although the model is fully electrical, the model will not carry the “I” prefix that is traditionally used for the EV structure of BMW. Instead, it follows the same name convention as the upcoming ZA0 M3 -Elektro sedan, from which it is also expected to retain the classic M3 badge, even if it is rejected by the burn.
This small, but meaningful name decision indicates a deliberate step of BMW M to maintain continuity with its most famous models – even if they go into the electrical era. It also increases our earlier reporting that the X3 m and X4 m (ZA7) will only be electrical, without not replacing any combustion applications in the pipeline.
Built on new class, driven by the “heart of joy”

The purely electric X3 M will drive on the new class architecture of BMW and is expected to enter production in 2027. A year after the Standard ix3 (Codenamed NA5) in 2026. Inside as ZA5, the ZA5, the high performance SUV, forms part of the second wave of new ones.
The M variant is expected to share its basic drive with the IX3 M60 XDrive, but with an M-specific melody. While no electricity has officially released, rumors suggest that BMW M aims at 800 to 900 hp for the ZA0 M3 and a similar output is likely for the X3 m and X4 m. A quad engine layout was indicated for both models that are known as the heart of Joy with the new central vehicle control unit of BMW.
This system enables almost instant torque vectoring, independent wheel control and far more powerful real-time adjustments than current M-XDRIVE setups. The result could one of the sharpest SUVs of performance on the market-without a decline in fuel.
Ultra -fast charging and new driving functions

The new class X3 M is building on an 800 -V -electric architecture and supports extremely fast DC shop -just like the IX3 50 XDRIVE prototype, which in recent tests added 350 km (217 miles) in 10 minutes. BMW claims that the system can hold the top charging rates of over 400 kW for a few minutes before it is rejuvenated. Under ideal conditions, a charge status of 10 to 80% is possible in about 20 minutes.
These specifications should be transferred largely unchanged to the M variant, which the X3 M not only gives current EIS-M cars, but also the real user-friendliness and the long-distance functions.
Brave design, familiar layout

The styling for the X3 M will be based on the standard -ix3, which is inspired by the vision of new class X concept. Expect a cleaner, more aerodynamic design with futuristic lighting, flush surfaces and narrow overhangs. But as with earlier M -SUVs, the X3 m selects aggression with wider arches, lower posture, unique bikes and a shaped front and rear cladding.
Inside, the dashboard layout of the new class design language follows: panoramic view, head-up display, iDrive X and a minimalist interface, which combines physical and digital controls. M-specific seats, trim and performance graphics are likely to distinguish them from standard models. And for the first time in the history of the model, the X3 m is most likely a front strain (Frunk) – a practical advantage that the electrical platform enables.
No gas -powered x3 m or x4 m

One of the greatest knowledge of this new information is that there will be no ice -operated successors of the G01 X3 m and G02 X4 m.
This is also in line with the internal rollout order. While the standard IX3 (NA5) will start before the New Made class I3 -Limousine (NA0), the M3 EV (ZA0) should debut before the X3 m (ZA5). The X4 M (ZA7) will follow shortly afterwards and probably share most of its basics with the ZA5. [Posted by ynguldyn]
