BMW X3 shows itself in Munich with a rare individual color

We may have had the impression that BMWS was all about the IX3 at the IAA mobility show. While the new electrical crossover is certainly the focus, there are many other cars that are worth checking it. If you are in Munich this week, the X3 will also be exhibited and shows a relatively rare color. The code name P85, Malachite Green is not that common, especially with a diesel crossover.

This special G45 bases things fundamentally in terms of motors, since it is an X3 20D with the 2.0-liter unit with four cylinders. But if you want more punch, the Six-Cylinder 40D is still available. As typical of show cars, BMW has shaped options. In addition to the special color, the luxury crossover has the M sports package and individual wheels. The 21-inch aerodynamic set is not even the largest offer. The M-Performance parts catalog includes 22-inch alloys for those who are ready to go out.

There were reports in which the X3 receives a somewhat nicer interior with improved materials. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case here. BMW is still expected to release the cheaper -looking plastic switches in favor of a shiny black finish. This would reflect the changes to the 5 Series. While they are not available for the time being, we will tackle hopeful Bavaria with the criticisms of inner quality before the X3 is subjected to its life cycle impulse.

Speaking of it, the LCI is not expected until the end of 2028, so hopefully the wait will not be so long. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that all planned revisions in the meantime will be a great main assets until the X3 arrives in about three years. BMW has already announced that all models will take over the new class at some point, which means that the best -selling product of the brand in the same generation could have a dramatic other look.

At the moment, however, it is as usual for the X3. The 20D at IAA combines Malachite green with an espresso brown interior, which is completed in artificial leather. It is a noble combination, although we admit that we see the G45 cabin differently after trying the IX3. It is not necessarily better or worse, but it brings things into the right perspective when BMW shifts to a new design language. If the MID-Cycle update for the X3 arrives, BMW will probably be geared into the model in more detail in terms of design and technology, but the two are continued on various platforms.

Although the six -cylinder engine has survived another generation in the X3, it is not hoping for the return of the S58. Why? An X3 m does not take place. However, BMW will probably prepare a real M -variant of the IX3 if you are ready to switch to electrical. The S58 will continue in the next generation M3 (G84), possibly with a mild hybrid setup.
