The X7 made headlines a few times this week. BMW confirmed that it has assigned funds for the development of a second generation model that “G67”. Shortly afterwards, spy pictures showed the flagship luxury -SUV, which was wrapped in camouflage. However, the next generation family tractor only arrives in 2027. In the meantime, it is as usual for the current model.
BMW starts a Japan-exclusive version of the three-row SUV. This is not the first “G09” that is specially tailored to the land of the rising sun. Some may remember the Nishijin edition from 2021, which was published before the X7, when the wild life cycle impulse received. Now the revised model receives a special edition, the Black-α. All in just 100 units are limited in frozen black, a matt color from the individual catalog of BMW.
BMW produces 90 units of the X7 XDRIVE40D and 9 units of the X7 M60i. The diesel version is sold by dealers all over Japan on a base in the first correct, first -class base. The V8 provider M60i must be ordered via a special website. Deliveries start next month. As for the tenth M -performance model? It is not sold to customers. Instead, it will be awarded to the Mori Building Cup winner of the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori, which takes place from June 5th to 8th in the Shishido Hills Country Club.


What distinguishes the black-α from a standard X7? A unique laser engraving appear on the center consolid cover and on the passenger side of the dashboard as an allusion to impuls Factory Orii, a craft company based in Takaoka City, which is known for its Takaoka Copperware coloring techniques.
Other special details are handmade woolen floor mats made of colored yarn with a black-α logo that can also be found on the dashboard and door projectors. Outside the BMW Japan, the XDRIVE40D with 22-inch nozzle-black wheels is dilated, while the M60i receives a larger 23-inch set in the same finish. The mirror caps of the M model and the rear badge also have a shiny black treatment.
The pricing begins at 16,250,000 yen ($ 112,000) for the XDRIVE40D and increases to 21,400,000 yen ($ 147,000) for the M60i.
