BMWS core limousines hidden new class design: video

It is the beginning of a new era at BMW. New class is celebrating a comeback, but instead of representing a line of limousines and coupes decades ago, it will spread over the entire line -up. From rearbacks to SUVs and everything in between, NK will introduce a new design language and technology of the next generation with iDrive X in the core. The first production model for the takeover of the new ideology is the second generation IX3, which has its premiere in September.

If you prefer limousines to SUVs, these three cars must also receive treatment with new class. We speak of BMW’s core limousines: 3, 5 and 7. The smallest of the three will switch to the next generation as a “G50” next year. Also in 2026 we will see the 7 Series (“G70”), while the life cycle impulse for the middle child is planned for 2027 when the 5 Series (“G60”) gets under the knife.

A spy video in an apparently sunny Spain shows the three limousines that hide their new class Makeovers. Since the 3 Series were designed to the new design language from the first day, it should have the most important changes to its predecessor. His larger brothers will be with medium cycle updates for existing cars, so that the changes are probably not so radical. For example, we can already see that the 7 -series series will keep its unusual split headlights.

In order to get an idea of what is hidden under the vertical camo, you are just right than the vision of neere class 2023. As indicated by the concept, even greater changes will occur inside. The next iDrive has a massive center touchscreen, but does not contain any instrument cluster or a rotary switch. Physical buttons are held on a minimum for an “Less” approach that certainly has a controversy. Some of us that go beyond a certain age still prefer physical keys for frequently used functions. However, most functions will soon only be accessible via the infotainment system. You could argue that the ship is already sailed with current BMWs with iDrive 8/8.5 or 9.

One of the 3 Series prototypes that were discovered here has a quad exhaust system. However, don’t be too excited because it is not a M3. Instead, we believe that BMW tests an M350 as a replacement for the M340i with a more powerful B58 engine. The model M-model is retained, probably in a mild hybrid configuration for the M3 “G84”.

Fortunately, large engines are here to stay. A few days ago, M-boss Frank van Meel said that the six-cylinder units are optimized to meet the regulations of Euro 7. The mayor of M Town also promised to keep the V8 alive. So look for M5 and 760i to stay with eight cylinders in the long run.
