One of the most striking visual references to the latest BMW -CS models -The striking yellow day -running light (DRLS) -do not appear on the upcoming BMW M2 CS. While you are a defining function for special models such as the M3 CS, M4 CS and M5 CS, the latest G87 M2 CS prototypes indicate another story.
With the M2-CS in the last stages of development, prototypes with minimal camouflage are triggered and show most of the production-ready design. And so far not a single with the characteristic yellow DRLs has been discovered. This is a strong indicator that BMW does not give the M2 CS the same lighting treatment as its larger CS siblings.

Yellow DRLS was initially a signature element for BMW CS models with the G80 M3 CS and G82 M4 CS, inspired by GT races and designed in such a way that the cars are shown a more aggressive presence, by motorsport. The yellow glow added a visual blow and contributed to distinguishing these power models from their standard -M objects -especially in low light.
So why the change for the M2 CS?

It is possible that BMW will aim to maintain a clearer distinction between the CS and future exclusive models. Another reason could simply be costs or production complexity. In view of its price position, the yellow DRLs in the M2 headlight modules may not be justified.
Or maybe BMW wants the M2-Cs to stand alone-more lightly, sharper and more focused without relying on the now expected visual floors.
Regardless of the reasons, if you have hoped for the upcoming M2 CS on yellow eyes, it is time to adapt your expectations. Enthusiasts still get a serious performance machine, probably with weight savings, chassis upgrades and a power flashing -without the golden shine. We will soon share more about the G87 M2.
