Mini USA has introduced the Mini Chargeforward program, an intelligent initiative that helps electric vehicles to lower their CO2 footprint and receive financial rewards by calculating them at the right time. According to Mini, the program builds on the success of the BMW platform from BMW, which now has more than 10,000 participants across the country.

Who can register?

Chargeforward is open to the owner of several mini electrified models:

  • 2025 and newer Mini -Landsmann SE All4 (U25)
  • 2020–2024 Mini Cooper SE Hardtop 2 door (F56)
  • 2017–2024 Mini Countryman Plug-in Hybrid (F60)

The program works with supply partners, including Xcel Energy, PSEG Long Island, Eversource, PSE, DTE and SMUD, whereby it is more to be followed.

How it works

Chargeforward uses grid and carbon data as well as the departure times for customers to find out when fees have the lowest environmental impact. Loading plans are then sent to the vehicle directly via the Mini app. No additional hardware is required – owners simply register, put the system on and let the system optimize the schedule. By moving the load to off-peak hours or periods with lower network emissions, the participants not only support renewable energies, but also incentives for their contribution. The rewards vary depending on the supply programs and participation in the National Carbon dividend system.

What to get owners

  • Rewards for intelligent fees: financial incentives from supply companies and the national program.
  • No additional effort: the car is ready if necessary, with automatically treated schedule.
  • Lower CO2 footprint: The load occurs when the emissions are lowest.

“Electric driving should be as fun as sustainable,” said Vikash Joshi, product manager at Mini USA. “Chargeforward gives our customers an easy way to save money and reduce their effects without using their car.”
