BMWblog Take part in a press event in Barcelona, where BMW invited us to discover the new IX. Well, the electrical SUV is relatively new because it has only received a life cycle impulse and not a second generation. After discovering the M70 yesterday, it seems fair to look at a cheaper version. It is the basic model, but don’t call it the IX XDrive40. Instead, the entry point has passed into the line -up for the designation XDRIVE45.
Remember this is not really a basic model, since BMW configured the car with some options. By far the most striking is the M sports package – a premiere for the IX. Even this lower taste of the large electrical SUV receives the more aggressive bumpers of the Hot M70. However, the striking kidney grill pattern of the M -Performance model is missing with horizontal slats and the M logo.
This Arctic Race Blue Metallic Lack debut with the LCI and costs an additional € 1,070 in Germany, where the configurator has been increasing for a few weeks. The bikes are also new and they are the largest that BMW ever installed on the IX. The stately 23-inch individual aerodynamic alloys (1028 style) are available for a high premium of € 2,200.
We are still not finished with the outer add-ons. This IX XDrive45 also has Titan Bronze accents. It is an individual upgrade for those who are ready to realize another € 760 for the electrical SUV. The illuminated contour of the renal grille is not standard. So prepare to pose € 500 for the so -called legendary glow.
Inside, BMW decided to build the vehicle with real leather padding (Castanea), making it reset additional € 2,750. The crystal controls increase the final invoice by another € 825, but they make the interior. We also notice one of the most expensive options for the IX LCI. It is the Bowers & Wilkins sound system for € 4,700. BMW bangs 30 loudspeakers in the entire interior, eight of which are built into the headrests.
It is generally assumed that the IX is a one-and-done matter without a planned second generation. Instead, BMW reports that it reports that it is based on a fully electric X5 based on the upcoming “G65”. It is probably referred to as IX5 and could produce a Swoopy IX6 siblings. A larger IX7 is said to be in progress.
