In view of the bad news that we received this week via BMW to increase the prices of the M2, we thought we would share something more positive. Sooner or later there are other ways to adapt the G87 beyond the colors added last year. As a refreshment, the LCI brought four individual colors: Java Green, Voodoo Blue, Grigio Telesto and Twilight Purple. In addition, some regular surfaces were presented: Sao Paulo Yellow, Fire Red, Portimao Blue and skyscrapers Gray.
Sylvia Neubauer, Vice President of customers, brands and sales at M, tells BMWblog The company is aware of the need for a more diverse range of colors: “We know that there is a demand. San Luis Potosi is limited to a certain number of colors. It was not expected to be awaited about details, but the M2 CS should come in velvet blue.

We also learned that BMW intends to optimize the individual ordering process in order to enable faster delivery. In the meantime, the M2 prices for the cars produced after May 1st will increase by around 4%. The decision was made in order to partially compensate for the new tariffs associated with the new tariffs announced by the Trump administration. As a result, the M2 CS will probably cost more than originally planned. So prepare for more than 100,000 US dollars to pony.
The best-selling M-car in 2024, the M2, is expected to be offered for sale by the end of the decade. In the meantime, a significant update for a start of 2026 is planned. The Baby M -Auto XDrive is for the first time. The all -wheel drive version will be an automatic matter. Fortunately, BMW intends to keep the current model with rear wheel drive in sales with a manual transmission. Logic tells us that the M2 will be the last M with a switch change to the story.
We believe that BMW will find more opportunities to season the M2 before the G87 will retire at the end of 2029. There are reports on a new special edition that is to be launched on the market according to the CS and XDRIVE models. If we are allowed to dream, maybe an M2 -CSL will finally come. BMW gave the F87 generation the CSL treatment, but it was only for a unique prototype.
