Historically speaking, BMW usually gave up unpublished products. However, it is another approach with the electric M3. Although the sports sedan “ZA0”, which is not debut so soon, will not be debut so quickly, the luxury brand strives to discuss it. BMW has already presented the high-performance EV with a radical prototype based on the i4 M50. We have also seen production -shaped prototypes that underwent tests at the Nürburgring.
In an interview with Top Gear Magazin, BMW gave a brave explanation. Mike Reichelt, the man who monitors the reborn new class line -up, claimed that the purely electric M3 was “the best M car that is ever dynamic”. But what exactly means “dynamic” in this context? Finally, the vehicle dynamics can be interpreted in different ways. Accordingly WikipediaIt refers to “the examination of the vehicle movement, e.g. how the forward movement of a vehicle changes in response to driver inputs, drive system expenses, environmental conditions, air/surface/water conditions, etc.”.
We should expect a sharp handling and a precise steering reaction easier. It is an ambitious claim, especially when you consider that the electric M3 will inevitably be a heavy car. Today’s G80 M3 competition XDRIVE already weighs 1,780 kilograms (£ 3,924). As a result, it is logical to assume that the ZA0 will easily exceed two tons (4,409 pounds).

The electrical M3 is expected to arrive at around 670 hp in 2027, with stronger variants follow. It remains unclear whether the start version will be in the return or all-wheel drive. What is confirmed is that new class models contain one, two, three or even four engines. BMW assembles lively synchronous engines (EESM) at the back and combines them with asynchronous engines (ASM) at the front.
Despite the lack of an internal combustion engine, the ZA0 could still sound like a traditional M car. A teaser video recently indicated on an artificial inline-six soundtrack recently indicated. For purists who prefer the real thing, BMW also develops a new internal combustion M3, which probably contains a mild hybrid version of the S58 engine. This new gas -powered M3, which with the code name “G84”, will probably be automatic to completely skip the manual transmission.
The regular sports sedan will keep its name “M3”, but BMW has already excluded the “IM3” moniker for the electrical version. This will ask ourselves how the car manufacturer based in Munich distinguishes the two cars in terms of marketing and positioning.
