For BMW it is easy to spice up a car that has been selling for years to attract our attention. Almost five years have passed since the first G80, with a life cycle impulse being introduced last year. At today’s fast -moving car market, one could argue that the M3 shows its age. However, hit a striking individual color and suddenly looks younger than yesterday.
To be honest, Frozen Tampa Bay Green Metallic is not new in the color palette. This matt color, which is “P9B” with the code name, has been around for years, but it is rarely seen on an M3 -LCI. BMW Bulgaria now treats us with new pictures of the converting sports limousines that carve the streets of the landscape. Apart from the striking color, this competition version also shows the optional carbon body kit.
Unfortunately, this Hulk-Spec M3 is missing the classic silver radopy, which was introduced with the mid-cycle update last year. Instead, BMW opted for the usual black finish on the 826 m alloys. Nevertheless, the rival of AMG C63 remains a sight despite its age. The hotter CS derivative has come and gone, but the standard M3 still turns the heads. Its muscular dimensions and plump fenders will never get out of fashion, although the kidney grill is probably not so graceful.
How much life remains in the sixth generation M3? Actually pretty. We believe that production will continue next year and may end in February 2027. The G81 touring could even stay longer. Reports indicate that the final long-roof-M3 will be built in October 2027. At the beginning of this year, BMW updated the car by starting a limited CS version.
Fortunately, the G80 will not be the last of the petrol -operated line. M has promised a new and possibly final, ice -operated M3 (also known as G84). According to Mike Reichelt, head of new class, it will contain a “new six -cylinder engine”. We are not quite sure what that means, but if we had to advise you, it will be a mild inline six.
It remains unclear whether the engine is based on the S58 or the smaller B58, even though we keep our fingers crossed for the former. The M engine is revised to meet the regulations of Euro 7 so that the Twin turbo setup still has a future. Since BMW also represents an M350 with a six-cylinder engine, it would not feel properly if the M3 has the same B58 engine as the M power model.
