Unexpected BMW EV limousine is shown in IX3 animations

In our relentless effort to dig up every juicy detail about the new IX3, we came across something unexpected. This is not the first modern NEE class model, nor is it an early look at the i3, which is due in 2026. So what exactly do we see? A slim limousine that appears quietly on official BMW website, if not as a physical concept. Instead, this four -door EV only exists and is presented in animations that demonstrate the driver aid systems of the IX3.

The design itself is fascinating. It is not similar to the 2023 Vision New Class Concept or the following radical VDX. Measured on its fully closed radiator grille, the unnamed sedan is probably electrically. His nine -design is closer to the 3 Series than on one of the concepts. However, the extended angle windshield reflects the vision new class.

It raises the question of whether this design is both the new class vision and the former I vision dee. In order to be fair, BMW describes it as a “computer -generated concept vehicle”, so it may be unclear to read too much. The car was specially developed for animations that show the autonomous driving functions of the IX3 and are displayed in several clips in which hands -free scenarios are highlighted.

Nevertheless, it is cool to see that BMW has created a unique design instead of using an existing model like the 3 Series. Alternatively, the 2026 i3 could have teased with a camouflaged prototype. While the limousine shown here has nothing to do with the upcoming production -EV, she still remains a fascinating look. I would describe this hypothetical car as a development of the concept i4 of 2020, which was infused with a DNA of the NEE class design.

The chances are good that it will only exist on BMW’s websites, and maybe that’s the best. After all, spy photos suggest that the actual i3 “Na0” will be a real headscarf. The next generation of the next generation “G50” should also be a striking car that brings all the license plates of the new class forward. The company’s head of design, Adrian van Hooydonk, even told us at the beginning of this year that it would be difficult to distinguish them:

“I think you will be tough [from a distance] To recognize which the electrical is and which is the combustion engine. It will be so close. ” [Photos: BMW]
