The SUV brand Stellantis, Jeep, has several new models in the pipeline, and a prototype for one of them has just been discovered.
It is believed that the prototype is for a redesign Jeep Cherokee of the sixth generationexpected that it will come onto the market later this year, probably as a 2026 model. The last Cherokee leaned after the model year 2023.
The strongly camouflaged prototype is unmistakably a jeep in view of its characteristic design elements such as trapezoidal bike boxes and a radiator grille with seven temples. A closer look at the greenhouse also indicates a strong resemblance to the Jeep Wagoneer -introduced for 2024 StLA large platform.
The section between the A and C-pillars seems to fit exactly with the Wagoneer S, although the Cherokee has a higher rear section that should improve the load space, but may influence aerodynamic efficiency. Stellantis may have already indicated the design during an investor presentation in 2021, where it showed the outline of an SUV – albeit an electrical – with the styling, very similar to what we see here.

The former Jeep boss Antonio Filosa announced during the car show from 2024 that a compact crossover that fills the emptiness of the Cherokees in 2025.
Filosa also explained in the La Auto -Show that the upcoming crossover will want have a hybrid drive train. However, it has not clarified whether it uses a plug-in system such as Jeeps 4xe models or a conventional hybrid system for which no shop is required. At that time, Automotive News reported that a traditional hybrid is the probable option – something that Jeep officers have indicated in the past few months.
The StLA large platform supports petrol, hybrid and electric drive lines, and the new Cherokee may offer all three. The prototype is equipped with a gas engine, as shown by its output tube, although it is unclear whether there is also a hybrid system on board.
