1968 Mustang #2

Started to take the car apart for cleaning and preparation for color. In this picture, the front fenders, side glass and regulators, the rear end and the interior were removed with one of the rotisseries units screwed on the front frame.

Heated the back of the car with the overhead lifting and put Jack under the car so that I could work under the car. The gas tank came out directly and is in good condition and is reused.

With the rear end it should be easy to remove the leaf springs, the driver side came out directly, the left one in front to cut out the screws with a cut wheel. You can see a rusted place on the inner inner fender that is repaired.

Once on the rotiss series it was turned and washed on the side.

I used a degreasing product and a mixture of twilight soap to scrub the floor down, and wash it off again.

The dirt and the street grime have expired, but the greasy oily areas have to be cleaned with solvents and then pressure was washed again. The pans in front of the floor were replaced, but the sloppy cut and the welding order are repaired.

The California Special Deck and Fender Extensions did not fit well, so I sold it and replaced it with a inventory.

Upgrades will be the power steering, the performance of 4-wheel disks, a coil via the front wheel suspension and the 4-connection hind wheel suspension with coil-over. I chose the 1989 302 with GT 40 heads and the T5 gear and will convert the car into a manual coupling. There is still a lot of clean, scratch and dispose of old color, and of course there is always a budget problem, so this project will take some time.
