It’s been 9 years since we saw the debut of the magnificent Donkervoort D8 GTO, there’s finally a new performance-crazed lightweight supercar to look forward to, meet the 500hp Donkervoort F22, pushing just 750 kilograms.
The car is named after the daughter of the new CEO Denis Donkervoort, Filippa was born on May 22, 2022. 50 units were to be produced, but they had already been sold before the Dutch had even started development; now there should be a few more, each costing 245,000 euros.
The well-known 5-cylinder from Audi, which now inhales a whopping 500 hp, is coupled to a Torsen differential and equipped with a manual five-speed gearbox. The F22 is built around a carbon-reinforced tubular space frame that’s 50 percent stiffer than the GTO’s already razor-sharp chassis.
There are scissor doors, carbon targa roof panels and a little more space than in the GTO. A few more amenities, including infotainment and even a bit of luxury, are optional, but the headlines will overlook the driver: 750 kilos, 500 hp, 0-100 in 2.5 seconds. What an exciting and unique piece of kit!
