Pirelli P Zero 40th anniversary: ​​four decades of performance excellence

Pirellis P Zero celebrates for 40 years as a titanium in the area of ​​the Ultrahoch performance tires (UHP). Since his debut in 1985, it has developed continuously to meet the requirements of the world’s most powerful street and racing cars. It was originally developed for the Lancia Delta S4 Stradale and has been a mature of the election for prestige manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche ever since.

The P Zero has set the standard for the performance with over 3,000 homologations for various car manufacturers for over four generations. Even today, P Zero continues to dominate comparison tests and has introduced innovations such as Elect tires for EVS and the P Zero E, a tire with at least 55% biological or recycled materials.

The P Zero history began combining elements of racing slicks, wet weather tires and medium designs into a single profile pattern with a revolutionary concept of racing. This breakthrough provided new standards on the handle, stability and security. Motorsport has always played a key role in the development of Pirelli, with the P -Zero technology in formula -1 and endurance racing. One of his early successes came when the Lancia Delta S4 from Miki Biasion won a moist Sanremo rally phase with a road legal (!) P zero-tire.
