Porsche has shown the dynamic skills of the Taycan GTS in a rather unconventional way: Place a New Guinness World Record for the longest continuous drift on ice through an electric vehicle. Behind the steering wheel, the Porsche trainer Jens Richter held a controlled over -taxer for 132 laps and covered 17.503 km in just 46 minutes. This performance is the fourth Guinness World Record from Taycan and strengthens its reputation as one of the most agile and most powerful EVs.
The record attempt took place on January 14, 2025 in the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, 150 km north of the Arctic circle. Initially, challenging ice conditions forced the first attempt to be abandoned after 11 km. However, when the temperatures sank, the team switched to shorter spikes on the Michelin tire, so Richter maintained the drift and significantly exceed the previous record of 14.809 km.

Porsche created for the recording a 59-meter drift circle on ice, in which the Taycan GTS are equipped with a GPS system in order to document distance, steering entrances and G-forces. The performance was checked by Guinness World Records jurors Carl Saville, who presented the certificate to the managing director of the judge and the managing director of the Porsche Arctic Center, Christian Lehwald.
This latest record combines an impressive list of Taycan territories, including altitude and speed records. The commitment of Porsche to cross borders continues and proves that the electrification and driving of tension can go hand in hand.
