BMW is not worried that the persecution of the volume with cars such as the 2 Series Gran Coupé will water down the prestige of the brand. The “F74” even produced a long -wheel model for China that bears the internal code name “F78”. The rest of the world receives the standard model, as can be seen here in new official pictures from Athens. The car manufacturer’s Greek division shows a 220 model that is equipped with the M sports package.
The compact limousine with front-wheel drive is dressed in Tanzanite blue and is located on 18-inch wheels. Alternatively, you can go all the way and choose a matt painting and even larger 19-inch alloys. Inside, BMW chose Greece Perforated Veganza (artificial leather) with an oyster (beige) finish. The seams on the dashboard in M colors are a little too much for a car with just a three-cylinder engine. The 1.5-liter turbo mill only makes 154 hp. There is even a smaller 2 -series -gran Coupé 216 variant that starts with 121 hp.
Beauty is in the eye of the viewer, but we believe that the car looks better than the old “F44”. The previous generation had a strange back end that was unusually high, while the rest was not so good. We prefer the interior of the predecessor before the BMW has integrated integrated access to most functions in the touchscreen. Unfortunately, even the signature iDrive controller is a thing of the past.
The 2-Serie-Gran Coupé has not been a real CUT-Price 3 series on various platforms. The latter remains the more demanding product in all areas, including the excellent driving dynamics that can only deliver a rear drive car. BMW sells a sportier version of the 2 Series if they jump for the M235 with optional compound brakes.
The 2 GC is necessary for BMW because it fights Mercedes and Audi for the global luxury sales crown. The Bavarians came to the top last year when they also passed the 1 -series fluid rear to the latest generation. With its recently affordable cars, the Munich car manufacturer, based in Munich, expects solid results. BMW knows that he can earn more money with larger, more expensive vehicles that offer larger profit margins. However, it is also known that the 2 Series Gran Coupé contributes to a positive balance thanks to the higher volumes.
