The glorious days of the diesel engine are long gone. The turnover of oil burners in Europe reached its peak in the mid -2010s when this type of engine held a market share of over 50% in many countries. The latest figures published by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association show that the plug-in hybrid demand now almost corresponds to diesel. In the first quarter of 2025, PHEVS made 7.9% of the EU, Efta and Great Britain market, while diesel engines conquered 8.2% of the new vehicle turnover.

Regardless of which side you are on, BMW has both segments with the fourth generation X3. The luxury SUV is offered with four- and six-cylinder diesel engines and an electrified drive train. New press pictures emphasize the latter, which was renamed the previous generation of the previous generation to 30e XDrive.

Car manufacturers usually present well -equipped versions of their cars, and this X3 is no exception. The plug-in hybrid crossover is in optional Arctic blue metallic colors and drives on wheels of 20 inches (1036 m). His darkened kidney grid with illuminated contouring is not standard, nor are the adaptive LED matrix headlights with blue accents.

In the past, Blue Lighting details laser headlights signaled, but BMW gradually aligns this technology. We still remember when the Bavarians ran to introduce the first production car with lane lights, the i8, and only bring out the Audi R8 LMX. But I wander off.

The internal proximity show how much the X3 has changed. It is unique in BMW’s line -up as the only model equipped with iDrive 9 and a Rotary controller. It is probably also the last one because the German car manufacturer is preparing to debut iDrive X. If the new IX3 is presented at the beginning of September, the electric frequency crossover will do without the traditional dial. The secondary physical control method for the infotainment system is on the way out.

For the Chinese market, BMW has developed a long -wheel version of the X3 that offers additional legroom with the back. The rear passengers also benefit from a more relaxed seat angle and an extension of the thigh support. Unfortunately, this “G48” variant is not offered in Europe or North America.
