2025 Rolls-Royce Ghost brings V12 in Goodwood: Video for work: Video

If you have ever wondered what a luxurious apartment on wheels looks quick, that’s it. The Rolls-Royce Ghost will show the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. Despite a massive V12 engine under the bonnet, the Ultra Luxury sedan is almost as quiet as the Specter Electric CoupĂ©, which tackled the same famous hill a few days ago.

The Luxobarge in question is a model of Series II, a marketing jargon for a facelifting. Rolls-Royce updated the spirit discreetly in October 2024, and this marks the first appearance of the car at Goodwood. It is more of the standard wheel of wheelbase than the even larger extended model. Nevertheless, at the height of 5.5 meters and 218 inches, which the BMW 7 series of the current generation in the size of the BMW 7 series slightly put in the shade.

The spirit not only drives up the uphill climb. It glides and blits when it is impressive in view of its size and weight. Most of the sound you hear comes from the tires that beat when the driver threads the smallest of the Rolls-Royce sedans through the narrow route.

A Rolls-Royce owner will almost certainly never push a spirit on a route, let alone drive as a passenger, while someone else does it. Nevertheless, it is remarkable to see how composed this country yacht stays in Goodwood during a hot round. The air suspension cut out its work for this, but it does an excellent job to keep the car smoothly and stable.

It is worth noting that this is a regular spirit, not the more powerful Black Badge version. This variant has an additional power of 29 hp and 37 LB-FT (50 Nm) torque, which leads a total of 591 hp and 663 LB-FT (900 Nm). Not that the wealthy inmate in the back would probably notice the difference between the two anyway.

The spirit is a natural step from a 7 -series series if you want to stay in the BMW group. Alpina will soon bridge the gap between the two with the return of the B7 under a new name. Based on the 7 Series Facelift next year, it should offer six- and eight-cylinder engines as well as electrical derivatives. Yes, an Alpina EV is on the horizon.

If you want twelve cylinders, you still have to climb to the mind. The venerable 6.75 liter engine with two turbo also supplies the even larger Phantom and the Cullinan SUV. For how much longer? Rolls-Royce plans to become fully electrical in 2030, so that the majestic days of the motor of the majestic “N74” are numbered.
