BMW is celebrating the Golden Jubilee ‘3 Series’ Golden Jubilee in the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. To mark the right place since 50 years since E21’s debut, the luxury car manufacturer has brought all seven generations of its typical sports sedan. Of course, setting up with the famous hill in West Sussex has dealt. As a bonus, some cars were M3S, including the original E30 and the worshiped E46 -CSL.
The 3-series ensemble was arranged in chronological order, starting with the E21 in 323i aroma and ends with the G20 as a 330e plug-in hybrid. But not everyone was limousines. The sixth generation model was shown by Touring (F31), while the fifth generation entry was a striking M3 GTS Coupé (E92).
Oddly enough, BMW decided to present the third generation 3 series with an E36/5 compact instead of a 3 fat. Nevertheless, it was a real pleasure to see all seven iterations of the company’s best -selling car in one place. It is a memory of how much design has developed in the past five decades. This seven-car line-up also underlines the significant size of the size of E21 to G20.
Beauty is subjective, but it is fair to say that older generations have aged like fine wine. The E30 would be our selection of the bunch, exactly the E21 and E46. This does not mean that the newer models are ugly. However, the cleaner, minimalist styling of the classic 3 series series has only something special.
To date, BMW has sold more than 20 million units of the 3 Series, including the car and Oddball Gran Turismo. This number also includes the long-wheel versions sold in China as well as the coupés and convertibles that were offered before the 4 series.
In about a year, BMW will launch the eighth generation 3 Series with the G50 code name. Judging according to camouflaged prototypes, it becomes a significant departure from the current model, possibly one of the most important designs between generations. It remains unclear whether a new tour will follow because the future of the G51 is uncertain.
