We have already looked at the new Audi A6 Avant and how it is comparable to the 5 Series Touring. But only now do we see the limousine version that will accompany the car. On the inside and outside, the A6 sedan largely reflects the improvements and changes in the touring model. But how does it stay with its primary competitor, the BMW 5 series, from one side to side?
Outer design
The 2026 Audi A6 grows relative to its predecessor. At 4.99 meters (196.5 inches) it is two inches longer, but keeps an identical wheelbase like the last A6 we saw. The 5 Series manages to stretch three centimeters longer than the Audi, but remains competitive thanks to a correct wheelbase. The two are about the same width.
New aesthetic details for the 2026 Audi A6 sedan include a wider radiator grille and narrower headlights and a more aerodynamic front bush rods. According to Audi, the 2026 Audi A6 sedan is the most aerodynamic combustion model that the brand has ever launched on the market and offers air resistance coefficients of 0.23. The improvements elsewhere include a single rear light that extends the width of the trunk and the wheels of up to 21 inches like the 5 Series. We believe that the 5 Series sedan, like their Touring brother, is the more reserved design. The large grille and the narrow, shabby LED LED strips in the headlights immediately give the A6 sedan more aggressively.
Interior design
Inside, the 2026 Audi A6 Limousine reflects the improvements in the Touring model. You will find up to three touchscreens, something that (currently) does not offer. However, the trunk capacity is somewhat reduced: the Audi values for 492 liters (17.76 cubic foot) trunk, which look back the 521 liters of the BMW (18.4 cubic foot). Both cars offer a 40/20/40 shared rear bench and amenities such as a panoramic glass roof. Compared to the last A6 sedan that we have seen, the 2026 Audi A6 sedan receives a smaller equipment selection, a square steering wheel and more extensive ambient lighting. The cabins of both cars have the buttons quite easily, although the 5 still retains a physical Idrive controller, which they prefer to prefer for those who even want a little physical control.
Performance
When it comes to performance, the 2026 Audi A6 sedan is at a disadvantage, since we have no details about high-performance models. Technically speaking, we have no fixed figures in the version that is bound to the United States bank. What we have is the word from Audi that three drive lines will be available, at least for most of the world. The entry-level model throws a 2.0-liter gas device for 201 hp and £ 250. An available diesel unit that definitely does not arrive in the states does the same performance and 295 pound foot torque.
The A6 sedan will also be available with a well-known 3.0-liter turboch six-cylinder. Here it makes 362 hp and £ 406 floating. This will apparently be the only version of the A6 that makes it up to us bank, which makes it much more powerful than the basis 5 that we receive. But it will remain behind the B58 drive 540i, which does 375 hp. In any case, the Audi corresponds to the 5 Series on the global market and on paper. However, we expect the 5 Series to be the dynamics of the two.
technology
With an available tri-screen display, there is no shortage of screens in the 2026 Audi A6 sedan. An 11.9-inch instrument cluster connects a 14.5-inch center touchscreen, whereby the passenger display measures 10.9 inches. The Audi sources Bang & Olufsen Sound, which will probably be with the Bowers and Wilkins of the BMW. The two will most likely offer almost identical technical skills that largely reduce personal preference. However, if your passenger absolutely has to have your own screen, only the Audi is enough.
Audi’s A6 sedan reveals that the model, bound in the USA, will later have its own separate publication this year. However, we do not expect drastic changes between the remaining models and what the United States will ultimately see. What would you see after the avant and the limousine?
