BMW visits the Amelia this week to organize the US premiere of the 2026 IX. We first saw the updated electrical SUV at the end of January. The configurator in the USA was only live a few days ago. The new IX will still look as avant -garde as the original sales time in 2021 and will be issued publicly near the main entrance of the show. This year’s event takes place in the golf club of Amelia Island and Ritz-Carlton Resort.
The Amelia will also be the venue where BMW will celebrate 50 years of the 3 series series. It is advertised as a car that “really launched the brand in the USA”. Several jewels are exhibited to mark half a century of the 3: 1983 320i, 1991 M3 DTM, 1995 M3 Lightweight, 2001 M3 GTR (Race Car version), 2011 M3 GT Alms, 2019 330i XDRIVE SPORTS WAGON and 2025 M340i XDrive.
If you are still not convinced, BMW estimates that more than 350 cars for the cars and community assembly are exhibited on Saturday. The company with the round is no less than 50 carefully selected 3 series models over seven generations. These cars were curated by members of the members of the BMW Car Club of America. You can find everything from the original E21, which was introduced in 1975 to the latest.
BMW from North America will also have some special models from its own collection. We speak of an E30 325is from 1987, an E46 M3 from 2006, an E92 M3 Lime Rock Park Edition 2013 and a 2025 m3. The latter is decorated with M parts and bears an individual color (Laguna Seca Blue).
Later this year, BMW will mark another 50 years of the 3 in the Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este. The annual retro auto event in northern Italy on the banks of the Como lake is planned for May 23 to 25.
