Audi starts a new chapter with BMW in its decades of rivalry by starting the next generation A6 Avant. The stylish car has the 5 -way tour with combustion engines in the crosshairs. It does not compete with the i5 Touring because there is no electrical version. Regardless of this, Audi sells an A6 Avant e-tron for those who want to buy a large electric luxury car.
While the 5 and i5 share the Clar platform, the new A6 Avant differs mechanically from the e-tron model. It is located in the PPC architecture (New Premium Platform Combusion) from Audi, which has already underpinned the smaller A5. The similarities between the two models are obvious, so that they have difficulty identifying what is. We don’t just talk about the appearance; The cabin is also largely shared between the two cars.


At 4.99 meters long, the new Audi A6 Avant is somewhat shorter than the BMW 5 series touring. It bears a wheelbase of 2927 mm, which is a little less than its Bavarian rival. It is almost 1.88 meters wide (without mirror), which makes it a little narrower than the car that carries the famous round. The freight capacity at 503 liters with the rear seats up to 1,534 liters after folding the rear bank. It is far less practical than its BMW rival, which can swallow between 570 and 1,700 liters.
At the start, the engine installation is easy. The cheapest A6 Avant money you can buy is charged with a 2.0-liter petrol engine from Turbo. The four -cylinder unit makes 204 hp and 340 Nm, which are delivered to the front wheels. This entry -level taste does not have the option for all -wheel drive. An economical 2.0-liter diesel generates 204 hp and 400 Nm, which are either directed to the front axis or via the optional Quattro AWD system.
Audi sells a V6 gas engine exclusively with Quattro. This strong 3.0-liter turbocharger, six-cylinder mill pump pumps 367 hp and 550 Nm. Similar to the diesel we mentioned, it has a mild hybrid setup of 48 V for additional efficiency and some electrical thrust. It is also pretty fast – 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 250 km/h.
Audi has developed the next generation A6 Avant with many high-end devices. The car is full of unusual things, from all-wheel steering and air frame to forged wheels and a quattro sports differential from V6. The latest model is a premiere for the A6 and also offers braking-by-wire technology, in which the brake pedal and brake hydraulics are completely decoupled.
The interior is a spitting picture of the A5 cabin. Before BMW brings a passenger screen into the 5-series facelifting in 2027, the A6 has an optional 10.9-inch display for the person sitting next to the driver. The central touchscreen measures 14.5 inches, while the virtual Audi cockpit has a diagonal 11.9-inch diagonal. A new and configurable head-up display with an 85% larger visible image is offered at additional costs.
