The 2026 BMW IX3 debut anything but unchallenged. The luxury -v -SUV segment is quite full these days. One of the most obvious competitors in the segment comes from none other than Porsche, an OEM who is similarly proud of his performance and technical heritage. From outside and interior designers to performance and technology, these SUVs are not only violent, but also show how old car manufacturers change their identity in the electrical era.
Outer design

The first impressions of IX3 and Porsche Macan eV are generally favorable. Both you see fresh and new in relation to your gas -powered colleagues. But everyone is still recognizable immediately and, so to speak, bears the “face of the brand”. In the case of the IX3, this means a smaller grille and a redesigned headlights. In the case of Macan EV, this means that a grille is more or less deleted and – not knowing that it does not know – redesigned headlights. Back back is more or less the same story. While the Macan EV definitely has a cleaner look, a light rod has the opportunity to age the car in the coming years. In the meantime, the new class of the IX3 should look new for the foreseeable future. After all, it is a design that is shared in all NEE class models.
It is clear from the side that the IX3 and the Porsche Macan EV have an identical length at 4,782 mm (188 inches). The Macan EV makes a somewhat more convincing impression of a sports SUV with a more aggressive slope to the rear hatch. The IX3 is only a hair larger than the Macan EV (0.4 inches or 10 mm) and a little narrower. Overall, the dimensions give the Macan EV a little more sporty. That means we wouldn’t call the IX3 boring.
Interior design

The Macan EV has made a lot of good BMW EVS in the past. Its interior largely reflects what you can find in the gas -powered cars, which is more good news, since Porsche Interiors are some of the best in business. The well -integrated screen and the abundance of quality materials make the Macan EV high quality. In comparison, the IX3 looks like the future. Without a Gauge cluster it is a radical other place than the cockpit of the Macan Ev. The Macan EV offers a maximum of 47.6 cubic feet cargo dream, while the IX3 offers a total of 61.8 cubic feet. Probably a by -product of the more aggressive roof line of the Macan.
Performance

The Porsche Macan EV and BMW IX3 offer a comparable balance. A 48:52 front/rear tendency on the Macan and 49:51 at the front/back for the IX3 value should both feel relatively extremely. The standard -Macan EV does 335 hp, which decreases from the IX3 50 XDrive, which BMW has shown so far. The BMW makes 45 kW/469 hp and is also standard with XDrive. In the meantime, the base Porsche Macan EV is indeed rear drive. Currently, the top levels of the Macan will definitely smoke the IX3 in a race. The Macan Turbo (electrical) produces 630 hp.
technology

As we previously mentioned briefly, the Macan EV has a smooth integration of Tech. But it is likely that the IX3 is a more technically progressive vehicle – both under the sheet metal and in terms of technology with which the drivers actually interact. In practice, however, both will offer a similar owner experience. Both offer a digital key, language -powered commands for navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and more. Interestingly, BMW has already said that CarPlay Ultra will bring many cars into many cars in the line -up, while the CarPlay Ultra has already said no.
The BMW IX3 and Porsche Macan EV appeal to slightly different priorities. The Macan EV tends to sportiness and familiar luxury, while the IX3 provides future -oriented design, more space and balanced performance. Both promise to satisfy the drivers who are looking for Premium -Elektro -Suvs, but their choice can ultimately be due to whether they prefer Porsche’s sporty refinement or the progressive vision of BMW of the future. There is also the problem of affordability. The IX3 starts at around 60,000 US dollars; The Porsche Macan EV is considerably more expensive at 78,000 US dollars.
