All press recordings you have seen in the new IX3 have shown a high-end version. It comes with the M sports package and almost every pipe. This is the usual BMW game book when starting a car and really the standard practice in the auto industry. It makes sense to give your best foot forward by highlighting the most attractive specification. The higher the price, the greater the profit margins.
But what about the more modest disguises? Configurators come into play here. Fortunately, BMW wasted no time to activate its online car manufacturer in Germany right after the world premiere. The IX3 is already available to configure on its domestic market and show these screenshots from the tool what they receive at a basic price of € 68,900.
We are originally only offered as a 50 XDrive, and our stripped IX3 avoids striking colors by adhering to simple alpine white. Several cycling designs are offered in sizes of up to 22 inches, but we kept it simple with the standard 20-inch set (Codenamed 1045). Inside, the seats are padded in Econeer, a textile that was made exclusively from recycled pet yarn. Real leather is available as an individual option, but can cost up to € 3,090.
Although the base IX3 is the cheapest version, it does not play on devices. Heated and energy -adjustable front seats are standard, combined with an automatic climate control of two zones and an electric tailgate. Other standard functions are the comfort access, the extended exterior mirror package, the charge of the wireless smartphone and an alarm system.
Buyers also receive digital key plus that transforms smartphones and smartwatches into autocys. It is not surprising that wireless Android car and Apple carplays are included in the box. On the security front, the entry warning of the IX3 Packs Lane, the warning of the street, the warning, the safe exit and the assisted view.
BMW will start deliveries to European customers next spring, while the US buyers have to wait until summer. A lower IX3 that will start around € 60,000 in Germany is in the works. The i3 sedan from 2026 should undermine the equivalent IX3 at the price.
