Not to go long until the new IX3 cover breaks and the multi-concrete revival of BMW signals from the NEE class. Although we obsessively covered the electrical crossover in building its premiere on September 5, we still learn new things. For example, it will be the cleanest EV that the German luxury brand has ever made and recycled materials used for about a third of their weight. That’s right: 33%.
Speak to ForbesThe BMW manager of sustainability vehicle projects, Juergen Feechl, revealed that the next generation IX3 would contain a whopping 740 kilograms (1,631 pounds) reused materials. From secondary aluminum to recycled plastics to old fishermen and ropes, the electric frequency crossover is surrounded by a variety of thrown away materials.
For example, the inside of the 140 PET bottle used comes from the inside. Recycled fishing nets from the south of France make up 30% of the material mixture used in the front case. Secondary aluminum corresponds to 70% of the Guss aluminum wheels and 80% of the wheel carriers and swivel stores.

BMW explains that it could rely even more on secondary materials if it had a stronger access to a steady river of high -quality raw inputs. The German luxury brand also does not promise quality: “Nowadays, the quality is comparable to much lower costs with a 100% primary material.” Speaking of the cylindrical gene6 cells consist of 50% secondary cobalt, lithium and nickel.
As you can imagine, these efforts were not only made for a model. The IX3 is the first of many NEE class vehicles that arrive in the coming years. So far, BMW has confirmed a long -wheel version of the crossover for China and a limousine available worldwide. The latter will probably revive the i3 tip name if it is offered for sale in 2026. Technically speaking, the i3 name never died. BMW sells a stretched electric 3 Series sedan in China with the alphanumeric name, which was presented on the quirky assembly line.
If we believe the rumor mill, BMW cooks an i3 tour and even an IX4. It is believed that both replace today’s combustion engine cars. Bavaria has already confirmed that there is no other X4 with a gas engine. In addition, reports indicate that the 3-series tours of gasoline are not renewed. The death of Ice Touring would certainly be a shock. If you see the glass half full, at least there is still the larger 5 with a long roof.
