It was a week since BMW introduced the M2 CS. The variant of the G87 variant of Range made her public debut in the Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este on the bank of the Como lake in Italy. Shortly afterwards, BMW Welt in Munich brought the company’s most powerful car for sale in the rear -wheel drive. After BMW M was presented as a static display, he is now promoting his newcomer in his natural habitat: the racetrack.
New film material in Abu Dhabi has the M2 -CS on the Yas Marina racing track. As we expected from BMW, video and editing are first class. There is a noticeable use of CGI tricks and gives the pictures the feeling of a cutscene from a video game. It also helps that the new competition sport in individual velvet blue is finished. The matt golden bronze wheels look good in front of the camera, although a little more variety would not harm. Only this bike design is available, but it will not be long before the Aftermarket scene offers many alternatives.
Visually, the duck tail spoiler is the outstanding function, which immediately distinguishes the M2 -CS from the standard version. BMW integrated the characteristic design element into the newly designed trunk lids made of plastic (CFRP) reinforced with carbon fibers. In order to be brutally honest, BMW has not changed much on the outside, although the rear diffuser is also unique in the CS. At the front there is a new matt black splitter. The standard carbon roof and mirror caps can be added as options for the regular M2.

The interior remains essentially unchanged, with the exception of a CFRP middle console and an illuminated CS logos in the door panels. BMW uses the M2 -CS with carbon bucket -front seats, which are also available as an option for the regular model. The list of upgrades is rounded off, is a steering wheel with a flat floor and a red 12 o’clock marker.
Essentially, the M2 CS is a (almost) fully loaded automatic M2 with an exclusive individual color and a duck tail spoiler. Of course, the real upgrade is below the bonnet, where the S58 engine delivers an additional torque of 50 hp and 37 LB-FT (50 Nm). Only customers with their hard -earned money can decide whether these changes justify the steep price. In Germany, BMW asks € 115,000 before adding the cost of blue painting and carbon ceramic brakes. In the United States, the basic price is $ 99,775.
BMW expects the M2 CS in the USA, Germany and China to be most popular if it will be offered for sale later this summer.
