BMW works softly on something new for the G87 m2. A disguised prototype was recently discovered at the Nürburgring, which is clearly equipped with components that are not part of the standard car. This is not a CS or CSL – at least not yet. We see the upcoming Track package, which will start in 2026 as part of the Katalog M Performance Parts Start.
Large rear wings and new aero show functional changes

The test car in São Paulo Yellow and hid behind layers of camouflage. The most obvious is the big firm rear wing – not for the show. The front bumper was also revised, with an apparently wider aerial absorption. Even the M2 badge on the kidney grille is glued, which usually signals the changes in development.
BMW is not yet talking about the hardware, but it is certain that this package contains more than just cosmetics. The suspension, the chassis and the brake setup will probably also get updates. They may be deleted from the M2 racing car or knowledge from the development of the new M2 CS.
M2 CS wheels return with a fresh two-colored finish

The wheels have the same 827 m style that can be found on the CS, but now with a more subtle two-color finish instead of bronze gold. Expect that the track package will remain completely legal, although there will be almost certainly some compromises in daily driving comfort.
The standard -M2 set a lap time of 7:38 to Nürburgring in 2023. The CS dropped this at 7:25 a.m. and set up a data record in the compact class. This new setup could shorten even more time if the upgrades find their way to the CS model – or if the package is available for both variants.
Is the track package offered as a bundle or modular kit?

BMW did not say whether the components are sold individually or as a bundle or whether they are only offered for new buildings. In view of the camouflage, this could still be a work. It is clear that BMW is further developing the G87 platform about what has already been published.
And although a decision about an M2 XDRIVE or CSL has not yet been made, this track package could serve as a springboard for something even more focused. At the moment it is another sign that the M2 has more to give.
