BMW from North America used the Monterey Car Week to give the 8 Series Gran Coupé a proper farewell. In Pebble Beach, the company unveiled the 2026 BMW M850i M Heritage Edition in bright red, which was parked in the same shadow next to an E31 850CSI. In the United States it is a bright red; In Germany, the color is known as a light red university.
The original E31 was only sold as a two -door coupé, with the convertible never put it in production. This new M. Heritage edition is based on the four-door Gran Coupé of the G16 8 Series. Only 500 are built worldwide, and while BMW does not share the US allocation, they confirmed that most of them would come here.
Details and design


The edition M. Heritage is available in five BMW single colors from the E31 -ära: bright red, Mauritius Blue Metallic, Cosmos Black Metallic, Oxford Green Metallic and Daytona Violet Metallic. Each car receives a carbon fiber roof with M strips, 895 m wheels of 20-inch orbit gray styles, M-sports brakes with black brake calipers, M shadow lines and extended shadow line cladding. There are also carbon fiber mirror caps that were only reserved for the M8 family.
Interior changes


Inside, the M Heritage Edition of M sports seats, which are padded in BMW -specific black Merino leather and Alcantara with a diamond pattern. Alcantara is also used on the panele headliner, dashboard and upper door. Tri-Color M seams appears on the seats, seat belts and door panels, and a non-illuminated M badge is set into the headrest.
The center console is completed in matt carbon fiber, paired with a glass layer lever and an iDrive controller. The Doorsills and the Cupholder cover are engraved with “M850i Edition M. Heritage” and “1/500”. The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond -Surround sound system and the professional package for driving support includes every girls’ edition by default.


Under the bonnet, the 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 N63 523 PS and 553 LB-FT produces torque, which is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic. BMW says that it will run 0–60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, whereby a top speed is limited to 155 miles per hour.
The pricing begins at $ 1,175 at $ 1,175. Production begins in November 2025, with the deliveries planned for early 2026.
