BMW’s Elegant Gran Coupé of the 8 series is approaching the end of its production run, but Munich does not let it slip out quietly. On this occasion, the brand gives the Grand Tourer a real farewell with the 2026 BMW M850i Edition M Heritage-Einem special, 500 units of units, which is inspired by the original E31 8 series from the 1990s. And there is no better place to reveal this than during the Monterey Car Week in California.
Five legendary colors from the past
The edition Mistault is only available as 2026 BMW M850i Xdrive Gran Coupé and can be ordered in one of five BMW tones that are lifted directly from the E31 range: Bright Red, Mauritius Blue Metallic, Cosmos Black Metallic, Oxford Green Metallic and Daytona Violet Metallic. Each finish is combined with a standard M carbon fiber roof with three-colored M strips.
The car drives on unmistakable 20-inch orbit-style-style alloy wheels with dual-spoke alloy wheels packed in summer performance tires, and the M Sport Professional Package is standard. This means that M -Sportbrems with black brake calipers, M shadow line lights and extensive shadow lines -outside panels.
Exclusive interior
Inside, the M850i Edition M Heritage goes far beyond what you can order in a regular 8er. The M-sports seats are trimmed in BMW-specific black merino leather and Alcantara with a diamond pattern design. Alcantara extends to the headliner, dashboard and over-door panels, while M three-colored seams accentuate the seats, seat belts and door panels. A unique, non-illuminated M badge is embedded in the front headrests.
The center console is completed in matt carbon fiber, supplemented by a glass layer lever and an iDrive controller. The doorsille and coupe covers are inscribed with “M850i Edition M. Heritage” and “1/500” in order to emphasize the rarity of the car.
Expensive but fully loaded
BMW offers the exposure to a single, fully equipped configuration. This means that buyers receive the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Sound Sound Synx System and the professional package for driving aid in the standard -in addition to the selection of their paint paint, there is nothing more on the option list.
V8 power, all -wheel drive
Under the bonnet, the 2026 BMW M850i Edition M Heritage receives no updates. It is the same 4.4-liter twinpower turbo-V8 N63, which produces 523 hp and 553 LB-FT torque. The performance is sent to the XDRIVE all-wheel drive system from BMW by an 8-speed steptronic transmission, which enables a sprint of 0–60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and a top speed to 155 miles per hour.
Pricing and production
The RRP is $ 1,175 target and handling. Production begins in November 2025, with deliveries for the first quarter of 2026.
With the 8 Series on the way outside, the edition M. Heritage serves both as a homage to the original 8 and one last opportunity to have one of the most striking modern Grand Tours of BMW – in some of the most memorable colors in the history of the brand.
