Luxury car manufacturers live from fat -woven margins, but are not ready to give up their volume cars. This is the case with BMW and the 2 Series Gran Coupé, which is now exposed to a fully refreshed opponent. Mercedes comes out with the third generation CLA with an electrical turn. The Baby Benz does not have anything Bavaria’s smallest limousine – an EV derivative.
That’s correct; Mercedes has developed the new CLA with burning engines and electrical drive lines. While BMW still offers its smallest limousine with diesel engines, wear his opponent many Three -point stars, this type of drive train dropped. Mercedes claims that it is enough muscles for a run from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds. If this is too slow, the CLA 350 4MATIC with the EQ technology completes the sprint in 4.8 seconds. This is an all-wheel drive, two-engine variant combined with 349 hp and 380 LB-FT. Regardless of the election, the EV versions of the new CLA are not faster than 130 miles per hour.
Mercedes installs an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery in both flavors of the CLA without an internal combustion engine. It quotes a maximum range of 792 kilometers (492 miles) for the RWD version or a slightly lower 771 kilometers (479 miles) for the AWD model. Both numbers are estimates based on the WLTP cycle.
The compact premium sedan was developed with 800 -v -ttech to support DC loads of a maximum of 320 kW. It is possible to suspend the electrical CLA’s battery for 325 kilometers (201 miles) in just 10 minutes. Before the end of the year, Mercedes will add a second battery by offering a lithium-iron phosphate pack (LFP) with a capacity of 58 kWh.
Styling is always subjective, so we will not discuss whether it is more beautiful or less appealing than the 2 Series Gran Coupé. We have to discuss the size of the car because it has increased compared to the previous generation. The CLA is now 4723 millimeters (185.9 inches) long, 1855 millimeters (73 inches) and 1468 millimeters (57.8 inches). It is actually greater than a 3 “G20” in every respect. After starting the limousine later this year, Mercedes plans to expand the CLA line -up with a new car.
