It was only a few days ago since the 7 Series Facelift was photographed by professional autopa parazzi. Today we bring something even better with us: a spy video. The film material in cold Scandinavia enables us to spend a few minutes with the updated flagship car. BMW covers the prototypes in extensive camouflage, but the readers with eagle eyes can already notice some important details
For example, the test vehicle has a quad emissions system with a license plate that ends in “625 E”. We are probably dealing with the M Performance version because an M7 still seems extremely unlikely. It is unclear whether the M760E sold today will change its name to reflect potential power improvements. It happened recently when the IX M60 became the M70. Although the kidneys are still large, the radiator grille seems to have a new shape and could be slightly flatter. The two horizontal slats on the ground reinforce our opinion that it is the hotter M760E, since the latest M-Performance models are equipped with unmistakable grills.

The new class design language is not visible in the spy video, but the luxury sedan in full size is covered. The headlights and taillights serve as placeholder and are later replaced by the final clusters in the test phase. However, only the inner design will change, since the shape, size and placement of the lights remain the same. The gymnastics signals sit under the low/high rays and cause us to assume that BMW gives the one-piece headlights of the 2027 7 Series. The rear light rod remains hidden under camouflage, but could be inspired by the 2023 Vision Nee class sedan concept.
The first impressions have a significant facelifting, which has not been the first in recent years. BMW gave the X7 a completely redesigned front fascia for its LCI. It looks as if the German luxury brand is not afraid to upgrade things within the life cycle of a model, even if this car is its crown jewel. We have to wait a little more to discover the interior, but search for the iDrive X. A simplified dashboard with a large central touchscreen is delivered.
Since the production is said to start in mid -2026, we are about a year away from the world premiere. In the meantime, we are waiting for prototypes to gradually lose the cladding and unlock the final details.
