Enthusians love their M2S and Z4S, but accountants know that the SUVs bring the bacon home. It will not be long before the original high -ranking BMW enters its fifth generation. Although the prototype is draped into camouflage, some details are already noticeable. The silencer hidden under the bumper and the double exhaust gas tips show that this X5 has a combustion engine. We point this out because BMW will also sell a fully electrical model for the first time. The IX5 is obliged to indirectly replace the IX, although the two will coexist for a while.
Plug-in hybrid test mule
An excerpt in the front fender on the driver’s side shows that BMW actually tests a plug-in hybrid. New door negotiations design

There could be more than just an M-Lite model, since the reports claim that plug-in hybrid M60E XDRIVE and ELECTRIC M70 XDRIVE aromas are also planned.
BMW intends to start production in August 2026. So expect an official premiere in a little more than a year.
